While many photographers are compelled to stage their models, I can't get enough of documenting the strange and wonderful world around me. I enjoy tiptoeing around the lives I follow, so often infused with oddness and warmth. I admire the lack of inhibition I find through my lens. So many subjects I photograph are seemingly capable of confronting life head-on. Maybe I live vicariously through my subjects, celebrating their peculiar forms of bravery and joy. Human behavior has never ceased to amaze me. Documenting lives so different than mine forces me to be an eternal student and to leave my comfort zone in hopes of seeing lives through a different lens.

Ambiguous Times explores personal isolation in the American city. The images play with the urban landscape as a theater in which character actors come and go. I shoot these images with the goal of keeping the time-period questionable. I enjoy having the street scenes appear antiquated.
